Mouseland

Mouseland is a fable which illustrates a society of mice, led by a government of cats. This story uses metaphors to establish a parallelism between this fantasized world and the real world, showing how a story that seems so ridiculous can be so close to our world’s democratic system. This story was first told by Clarence Gillis and became famous by the Canadian politician Tommy Douglas.
Tommy Douglas was a prominent Canadian politician, who became popular due to his inspiring speeches, using jokes and small stories to illustrate his points of view about the society. He became known for implementing some social changes in Canada, including the universal health-care system and universal educational system.
In the year 2004, Tommy Douglas was elected by the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation) the greatest Canadian of all-time. Tommy Douglas was also the grandfather of the famous actor, Kiefer Sutherland.
